Welcome!

Welcome to the blog for our Mindful Writing workshop! Each day, please visit the blog to report on your BDS: how long you wrote, what you were working on, how it went. You're free to add anything else, if you'd like, but do include those basic three items. If you're the first person to post on a given day, please start a new post with the date. Otherwise, just add a comment to the current day's post. That way, there will be just one main post for each day, with a comment thread.

If you'd like to get reminders about the blog, you can set up your profile to get updates.

  1. I'm happy to say I wrote Saturday and Sunday, each day for about in hour in the morning. Both days I read and took notes on "Pepper Seed," by Malika Booker. This is one of two books that I will feature in my blog and in a paper I hope to present at the 2014 NeMLA. I installed the Time Out Free app and like the 15 second breaks every ten minutes. Today, I completed the application for the Vermont Center Studio Residency. It took over an hour to complete and involved updating my CV and putting together the poetry manuscript that goes with application. For some reason the Time Out Free was disabled and I was quite exhausted when I finished the application. Hmmm maybe the breaks do make a difference.

  2. Ok. I took this weekend off.. And today just got away from me. I guess I could fit it in but then that would defeat the purpose! So I downloaded the meditations and will do one tonight. And I will so be prepared tomorrow, which will be a challenge since it is my long day!
